State of Missouri
County of Mercer
On this 5th day of August A.D. 1853 personally appeared before me a
Justice of the Peace in and for said county and State aforesaid Elisabeth
Boothe aged seventy two years a resident of Mercer County in the state of
Missouri who being duly sworn according to law declares that she is the
widow of Charles Boothe deceased who was a private in the company
commanded by Capt. Congleton in the Fourth Regiment of Virginia Drafted
Militia Command by Colonel Huston in the war with Great Britian declared
by the United States the 18 day of June A.D. 1812. That her said husband
was drafted at Cabell County in the state of Virginia on or about the
last of the month of May A.D. 1814 for the term of three months and
continued in actual service in said was for the term of three months was
honorably discharged at Norfolk (she thinks) on or about the last day of
the month of August A.D. 1814 as will more fully appear from the muster
rolls of his said company as she has not seen his discharge for many
years and believes the same to be lost.
She further states that she was married to the said Charles Boothe at
Tazewell County in the state of Virginia on the 19th day of February A.D.
1798 by one Elkins a Baptist Preacher and that her name before her said
marriage was Elisabeth Ferguson and that her said husband died at Cabell
County in the state of Virginia on the 24 day of October A.D. 1821 and
that she is still a widow. She makes this declaration for the purpose of
obtaining the bounty land to which she may be entitled under the act
passed September 28th A.D. 1850 and that she has no record either private
or public of her said marriage and that she nor her said husband in his
lifetime has not received nor is not entitled to receive bounty lands
under any act but that of 28th Sept. 1850.

Elizabeth married Charles Boothe Jr, son of Charles Boothe Sr and Jane Whitby, on 19 Feb 1798 in Tazewell County, VA. (Charles Boothe Jr was born in 1775 in Mercer County, Missouri---- England and died on 24 Oct 1821 in Cabell County, VA.)
